Tourlane plans tailor-made trips with local experts. This project was a prototype: a way to explore new features for a Tourlane app and test them early, on screen.
It covers the moments around a trip: a day-by-day itinerary, flights, hotels and other bookings in one place, a map of today's plan, and a direct line to a travel expert.
Prototype. These are concept screens, not the live Tourlane app.
Inside the product
What the prototype covers
01
Your trip, day by day
The app opens on the trip, not a menu. Each day runs in order with times, addresses, directions and a call button where it helps, flights sit in the same list, and a map shows today's plan with the distance to each stop.
- Days grouped by city and date, with a photo to set the scene
- Directions and a call button inside each stop
- Today's itinerary on the map, with upcoming and passed stops

02
Bookings in one place
Flights, hotels, car rental and activities each get a tab. Flights appear as boarding passes with seat, flight number, date and boarding time, with completed flights below. Hotels show the room photo, price, check-in and check-out times, address and a call button.
- Four tabs: flights, hotels, car rental and activities
- Boarding pass with a shortcut to the wallet
- Hotel card with price, times, directions and call

03
A travel expert on call
A chat with a named travel expert opens over whatever the traveller is looking at, so they can ask for help without losing their place. Here a traveller asks the expert to book a rental car for the next stop.
- Opens as a sheet over the current screen
- Expert name, photo and role at the top
- Camera and photo shortcuts beside the message field

The work
What the work covered
UX
Explored how new features could sit around an existing trip: a day-by-day itinerary, bookings in one place, a map of today's plan and a direct line to a travel expert, and how a traveller moves between them.
UI
Designed the prototype screens and their states: itinerary cards, boarding passes, hotel cards, the map sheet and the chat. Kept in Tourlane's green so it feels like the same product.
Prototype and testing
Built as a prototype to test the new features early. The screens show the intended experience and are not the live Tourlane app.
